What this calculator does—and does not do

The result subtracts 5–20% from the TDEE you provide. It shows arithmetic, not a weight-loss forecast. Human energy expenditure adapts over time, and the familiar 3,500-calorie rule does not predict individual change reliably. Results below 1,200 calories/day are rejected as a conservative informational guard, not a personalized prescription.
